Today our Words of Wisdom artwork comes from Jess Wilson…enjoy!
Describe a bit about yourself and your work?I’m from a little village in Suffolk but have been live in London for five years now. I work as an illustrator, my work mainly centers around humour and making people smile. In terms of style, I like to use all mixed media and get my fingers dirty. But sometimes I like using the bold colours in photoshop and converting my hand drawn line.
What are your words of wisdom and why?I wanted to do something involving the queen. Because I was sending it via post I liked the idea of drawing a speech bubble out of her mouth. I wasn’t even sure if the postoffice where going to post it! I just found a quote from the queen which was related to the brief.
Who is your role-model?Queen Elizabeth II
Upcoming projects?I’m finishing doodle book. After that I hope to have my first solo exhibition this year.

Launched in 2011 by Teo Connor and Loren Platt on the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day, the W Project celebrates women working across the creative industries through a lively mixture of events and activities. We aim to promote empowering role-models and help build a better creative community for the future.
